MATERIAL GUIDANCE
Services
Material Guidance is your collaborative partner, providing cross-functional services in material knowledge, product development, product longevity and transparent sustainability communication. I encourage the practice of Ecodesign for Sustainable Products principles, streamlined Life Cycle Assessments as a guidance tool in product development and Materiality Assessments for identifying which ESG topics are significant to your company and its stakeholders.
My enthusiasm for creating textile haptics and aesthetics led me into the profession of designing and developing materials for automotive interiors and consumer products. The expertise that I have gathered, from over 20 years within industry, provides me with respect and understanding for the processes required to develop and quality assure a broad spectrum of materials. I offer my knowledge of uniting function, longevity and aesthetics, with the objective to reduce negative impacts on individuals and environments.
Materials
Choices of materials, their colours and haptics have direct influence on the user experience and the product’s perceived value. Materials have a profound effect on how a product will be manufactured and determine the product’s function and longevity. As raw materials diminish, we shall be open to consider innovative, alternative materials, that originate from unique or regenerated sources. We shall be aware of the impacts of designing, developing and manufacturing materials.
“We don’t have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in change. Small acts, when multipled by millions of people can transform the world”
Howard Zinn
The purpose of Material Guidance is to provide knowledge so that durable products are produced, resources are not wasted and consumers can make responsible product choices
Children, across the world, shall not inherit the mistakes that we have created. Together, we must be pro-active, as individuals and organisations, to continuously adapt our behaviours, attitudes and lifestyles. Let me guide you.
